How do I get involved at AHS Youth Program?
We are happy to announce that we have THREE different ways you can help out at Youth Program. Read below to find out more! Also, please check asianhealthservices.org for other career & employment opportunities.
We are always looking for self-motivated interns to lead sex education workshops in Oakland middle schools! Workshop presentations are based on the Office of Adolescent Health/Teen Pregnancy Prevention approved curriculum “Making Proud Choices!” specifically meant for 6th grade students. This is a perfect opportunity for those seeking to gain teaching experience and who are committed to reproductive health advocacy and youth empowerment.
Interns also have the option to gain invaluable experience during our clinical hours working alongside healthcare providers, counseling patients on STD/HIV testing, birth control options, and more! We hope to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows interns to showcase their skills & encourages self-initiated projects.
Interns are expected to commit 5-10 hours per week for 6 months – 1 year. This is an unpaid internship.
